One seat car step by step process by AgeBee One seat car step by step process by AgeBee
Now this is the one.
I went back to painting only with values and adding the colours later on with a top layer on Color blending.
Since this is a technical drawing, I relied heavily on the construction and details to the parts that compose a car, always keeping crisp sharp selections.
Right from the star, my concern was to correct the perspective of my original drawing and get solid shapes.
The design is reminiscent of the older Italian cars, like a FIAT 500 old model.
In the end, after the colours were already placed in their proper spot, I did a little colour balance to get a composition with warmer tones. I also turned the shadows towards green, the complementary of the overall tone.
I learned a lot about painting with values and specially about painting chrome, how it reflects everything around it, but distorted to the shape of the object.
Great project with a very satisfying outcome.
